This Side Up

Nominated for BEST ACTOR for This Side Up by Life! Magazine Theatre Awards in Singapore 2006.
Reviews

"A good example of mime as entertainment Above all, it is very funny, Ramesh's humorous expressions a constant delight"
- Liverpool Daily Post

"Ramesh animated it with his exuberance, controlled it with his perfect timing, and made it impossibly funny."
The Flying Inkpot (Singapore)

“What made the show thoroughly enjoyable was Meyyappan’s spot-on timing and wide array of physical gestures which conveyed so much with so little”
– Life! Straits Times, Singapore

Following work with international mime artist, Ramesh Meyyappan during '2 Pairs of Shorts', we collaborated once again in 2005 on this hilarious one-man show.

Telling the tale of one mans battle between the urban sprawl of the city and his need to go back to his roots - unfortunately when he attempts to commune with nature he has neither the skills nor the knowledge creating chaotic results.

This Side up has since been performed in the USA, Australia, Austria, Poland, Iceland & Singapore.

Directed by Mark Smith
Music by Paul Skinner
Lighting design by Sarah Karemander
Performed by Ramesh Meyyappan
