Creative Minds

Creative Minds is an exciting Coventry-based personal development project that focuses on creative thinking, active participation and enjoyment to increase self-confidence and the motivation to consider future goals and ambitions.

The programme is aimed at supporting people who face barriers to work through health issues with a particular focus on mental health issues. The programme will allow participants to engage in a wide range of creative activity including: Team building, Creative writing, Photography, Mask work, Video projects & Visual Art workshops

It is funded by Coventry’s Local Economic Growth Initiative (LEGI), which is aimed at releasing the potential in people and communities - it assists local people as they move towards employment and it promotes Enterprise, helping people to consider becoming their own Boss.

The programme provides the first step by supporting and building confidence in people to develop skills in communication, teamwork and problem solving.

It is being led by a Kerry Harvey, who has returned to Coventry after a number of years successfully delivering similar projects for Spike on Merseyside.

“I moved back to Coventry to be closer to my family and I really got a sense that there was a need for innovating the ways in which local people were being supported in their aspirations to work. I knew from my experiences with Spike that arts based projects could really inspire participants, building their self-confidence and self-esteem.”
